Britain's trade-in-goods deficit unexpectedly widened to £7.3 billion in December, official data showed on Tuesday.
The figure compared with a deficit of £6.8 billion in November, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
Analysts had expected the deficit to narrow to £6.7 billion in December.
